Be Strong & of Good Courage

Be Strong and of Good Courage

I have no intention of ever pretending to be perfect not with myself and certainly not with you Abba, Jesus, Holy Spirit. I think the most precious lesson I am learning in life is; that there is no such thing as perfect. If there were what need would there be to need saving? We would all think we are self-sufficient. Even though most think that anyway. We all need saving every moment from our flesh, but the awesome part is that you Lord Jesus make needing saving this amazing nest of love. It is not at all shameful or embarrassing.

That yes all though we can, do, and will embarrass ourselves. We all will trip and fall and make at times horrendous mess that only you can pick us up from. It is awesome to be a child of the only true and living God.

True story, this is funny and I am going to share because laughing is more than healthy. I will never forget this day ages ago, to this day every time I think of it my ribs ache. I have never witnessed anything like this ever! I mean ever in my life front row.

I was going out to have a casual lunch with a friend after we got our facials and massages. I was in my regular attire, I remember when I picked her up to go she was dressed for a runway or a date night. I mean it was summer she was all dolled up on fire, from head to toe.

So we walked into the restaurant and she decided it was a beautiful day and decided that we both sit on the patio outside. On the patio, a couple was out there enjoying a bite.

As we made our way to our table I can't place what happened to her foot or high heel, but she tripped. I tell you Lord have mercy she didn't just trip, her tiny body took out a rather large table and four chairs. It was sort of impressive. As I watched this accident I was mortified and helpless it all happened so fast. She was in this nice dress and this unexpected disaster just exploded.

Oddly enough she brushed it off as though nothing happened! Initially, I was scanning the patio giving that "what are looking at look?" just in case someone tried to make her feel worse. We got to have each other backs. However, after in sunk in I was in hysterical laughter! I am not sure if it was the gentleman who witnessed this collision with the tables face expression. It was epic and priceless he tried to help and he was so lost.

We all continued on the patio awkwardly, I sat across from my friend sipping my water waiting for her to cry or something or to talk about what just happened. She would not start the conversation so I did in laughter every time I tried to act normal I would uncontrollably break out in laughter. The more I tried to put a lid on the laughs it only made it more combustible.

Let's just say at least that happened with a friend and not a real date. Then again should someone judge you if you took out a table on a first date? Talk about breaking the ice. That is almost hall of fame worthy.

My point is that when I think of strength and good courage it is not always someone getting lit up in a boxing ring. Sometimes it is the simple ability to laugh at oneself, failures, collisions, accidents. Seriously? What is life without laughter? If we can't at least laugh at ourselves we have somehow missed out on life.

I'm sorry but most things not all, but most though they may have been or even seemed terrible are just hilarious in hindsight.

I think that she had more strength in courage than most, and me. I would have likely laid there for 10 more seconds groaning on my face and not ordering an app as fast as her. She picked herself up, straightened up her dress, hair, shoes, and like a boss ordered dessert. May we all have this kind of strength and courage and not just for ourselves but for others and our whole family in Christ.

I bless and love you all

May we be in wonder and laughter together as we realize we are stronger than we think.
