Relationship With & Without Benefits

So, I was doing what I do in the morning as I always do, I was communing with you Jesus. As I was doing this there was this circling obnoxious statement that came right into my ears. Someone was anticipating their urgent need of You Holy Spirit yet was grumbling about not being able to feel you by rudely interrupting someone else who was.

My instant thought was, well why would you? Why would one feel the presence of God His Spirit when you do not have relationship with Him? And if not absent a nonexistent relationship, a very disgusting one?

If you are a professing child of the devil, you wouldn’t be experiencing on a daily basis free-flowing presence of God every morning refreshing your life? I mean without You Jesus we actually are your enemies by default! Quite a powerful revelation where we realize how much mercy and grace that our Heavenly Father has for us. Which if you never heard that before now, I sincerely apologize, right His enemies!! No, isn’t a neutral zone. Some of us sadly become a causality of war for not realizing this reality.

As a loving heir of salvation, we receive an abundance of His favor and blessing because we are NOT alienated from God. He is faithful, and daily He longs and we long to commune with the Holy Spirit together daily it’s our life. It becomes less of a task on a to do list and more like lifesaving breathe that living ceases to exist without Him. How could we honestly say we have a relationship if I didn’t, or you didn’t commune with Him? Relationship is two parts planning and choosing to love through our life no matter how crazy life gets.

That if we wanted to experience the benefits of Him we are wise to know that it actually requires something of us. It requires a heart fully surrendered to Him and the Word of God. And we know that when we cry out to Jesus He is faithful to answer. He makes us certain promises that we can guarantee we will receive by being obedient to the Word of God and the things He tells us individually in our lives.

That as a Bonafide fully equipped saint of God I know I am able to handle anything life might throw at us. That we are NOT to live off of others prayer lives, good preaching, or teachings. That He is calling us into something much deeper, He is calling us into something more intimate. No matter how good or easy that it is not what He is asking us to do. He wants us to cultivate a sincere relationship with Him. That is always the call to our first love Him back to that place when we couldn’t live without Him.

So, you can imagine how oxymoron it is to say I do not feel the presence of God deeply, but I have no legitimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. It's true you wouldn’t. It is not because someone else is not right with God or on fire for God enough it is because truthfully, we are not! Deep down inside if we ask ourselves, we and the Lord know that it is true.

So, it turns out we cannot live of other people’s prayers, but we are welcome to a prayer life in our individual life whenever we want to. We are invited to stop being takers and to sincerely ask Jesus what is keeping us apart. What is keeping you apart from Jesus? I promise if you ask Him, you will be surprised with the answer.

2+2=4 We are welcome into a sincere relationship with Christ if we choose it. Love is a choice. Not a horse and buggy.
