Do Not Judge
1 "Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
6"Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.
Matthew 7: 1-6 nkjv
Have you ever heard someone say to judge not lest you be judged?
This usually happens to us in the middle of some dialog that we intended, that we can sit over another human being and pass judgements that are crooked on them.
The thing with us is that usually someone else hears us, and they can see the above verses starting to come alive in our hearts and situation.
Judging. I suppose is allotted with the caution that we use it wisely lightly. Lest we fall victim to our own harsh judgements.
That maybe when we judged another it may be what is coming back to us. The graceless merciless judgements. It usually will prick at our hearts because it is true. The Word of God has a way of doing that to His children. It is sharp it cuts deep and will not relent until the power of its truth is released. It is impossible to be ignored.
We want our hearts to be open to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We want to feel His correction because ultimately, He loves us. We don't want to walk around bleeding out because of our own judging. That we are wounded because our Lord Jesus Christ expects us to have the same meekness that we felt the first time we realized that He paid for our sins. We forget sometimes that we have been forgiven for our sins, shortcomings, weakness. It cost the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ that He forgave us when asked and never held our sins, iniquity against us. He set us free.
He now expects us to do the same.
That is the part we dismiss that if expect to receive forgiveness we have to forgive. Thus, one of the ways of Christ Jesus working in our hearts.
What good is anything even preaching the gospel if we lose our own soul! What good is it that I labor for the souls of men and lose my own?
What good is it to be a fisher of men, only later to tragically fall short in repentance.
I mean I don't want to turn out in the end to be what disqualified myself.
Wisdom met folly once or twice passing by.
The blessings of God that are with Him, not separated from Him.
Help us Lord Jesus to become more intentional with our judgements. Let them bring the Lord Jesus Christ the glory and the honor and prayer.
Jesus Christ Forevermore
