We Rise & We Obey

Updated: Apr 25, 2024

We rise and we obey

But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29

However, if pleasing people causes us not to please God, then we must obey God not other people.

Where do we draw the silver linings? Ever been in situations you did not expect to be in with people you thought you would be called out of pleasing and agreeing with. It stretched you further than you thought it ever would to the end of something. It put you in a position that maybe is not your favorite one but caused you some discomfort initially. Maybe it was the first time you stood for your faith in Christ Jesus this way.

The air felt a little cleaner than what you were used to.

Faith got a little bit better maybe?

You were called out in a situation to stand to obey Jesus above all else. Decided to make the tight turn went for it and kept going. Ask questions later.

Obey the Lord moments. Stay the course.

This really brings out the truth in us when we realize that when all else fails that we must it is imperative that we obey God. Obey God always. But especially above the inklings of pleasing other people. Out of the comfort of smiles out of the comfort of mediocracy.

When favor runs a down a different edge a narrow one.

I have learned to love these moments which set me apart not as better but as I belong to Christ above all else. That making these decisions is becoming easier and easier for me to do every day. That I can go to bed at night knowing that my aim is to praise and please God. I wake up in the morning knowing it is His will finding new graces and new measurements of love and faith I never knew I had.

Jesus Christ Forevermore

Maybe this is you too
